TECHNICAL & ACOUSTIC FAQ

Our story begins in Latvia’s forests - managed and cultivated by Stiga RM’s own forestry division. This gives us complete control over the raw material from the very first stage, ensuring responsible forestry practices, continuous regeneration, and a sustainable foundation for every Sonablock® acoustic panel we produce. Because the timber originates within our own ecosystem, we can maintain consistent material quality, long-term durability, and environmentally responsible manufacturing standards throughout the entire process.

From forest to finished acoustic panel, every stage of the Sonablock® production process is carefully controlled within the Stiga RM ecosystem. This allows us to achieve exceptional surface consistency, total control, and refined visual quality designed for architectural interiors where aesthetics, acoustic comfort, and technical performance must work together seamlessly. Sonablock® acoustic panels are developed for projects that require both natural material appearance and reliable long-term durability.

Our manufacturing facility is built around one of the world’s most advanced automated production lines for wood wool acoustic panels, enhanced with intelligent systems and AI-assisted process control technologies. Developed together with leading engineering and technology partners from the Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, Germany and Latvija, the production ecosystem ensures manufacturing precision, production efficiency, and consistently high acoustic panel quality at industrial scale.

A significant part of Sonablock® production equipment is developed and manufactured within Stiga RM’s own metalworking division, which produces approximately 30% of the machinery used throughout our facility. This integrated engineering approach allows Sonablock® to continuously improve manufacturing technologies, optimize production processes, and refine acoustic panel performance directly on-site. The result is greater flexibility, faster innovation, and precise quality control throughout the entire production ecosystem.

Sonablock® wood wool acoustic panels combine the natural structure of wood wool with advanced manufacturing precision to deliver high sound absorption, reduced reverberation, and balanced acoustic comfort for contemporary architectural environments. Developed for architects, designers, and large-scale interior projects, the panels help create spaces where acoustic performance, material aesthetics, and design flexibility work together seamlessly. Suitable for offices, educational facilities, hospitality spaces, public interiors, retail environments, and modern commercial architecture, Sonablock® acoustic solutions are designed to support both creative freedom and long-term functional performance.

From standard wood wool acoustic panels to fully customized acoustic solutions, Sonablock® offers extensive design flexibility for modern architectural and interior projects. Panel dimensions, shapes, colors, perforations, edge profiles, and surface finishes can be adapted to meet a wide range of architectural concepts and acoustic design requirements. Designed for both wall and ceiling acoustic applications, Sonablock® panels allow architects and designers to integrate high-performance acoustic comfort seamlessly into offices, schools, hospitality environments, retail interiors, public buildings, and contemporary commercial spaces. By combining natural material aesthetics with advanced acoustic functionality, Sonablock® creates acoustic panel systems that support creative freedom without compromising technical performance, durability, or spatial experience.

Sustainability at Sonablock® begins long before production. With responsibly managed Latvian forests, integrated manufacturing processes, and advanced production technologies powered by Stiga RM, every stage is developed with long-term environmental responsibility in mind. Our wood wool acoustic panels are designed for modern architecture that values natural materials, durability, acoustic comfort, and conscious resource use. By combining efficient production, optimized material usage, and long-lasting product performance, Sonablock® delivers acoustic solutions that support healthier interior environments and more sustainable architectural spaces.

Our internal laboratory allows us to continuously test, validate, and monitor Sonablock® acoustic panels throughout the production process. Quality control is a critical part of our manufacturing standard. We carefully inspect raw material structure, wood wool fibre quality, panel strength, pressure resistance, dimensional stability, surface consistency, and fire reaction performance to ensure every product meets strict technical requirements. By testing key performance indicators in-house, we maintain consistent acoustic panel quality, reliable durability, and high-performance standards across every Sonablock® product. This strict monitoring process helps ensure that each panel is not only visually refined, but also technically dependable for demanding architectural, commercial, and public interior applications.
