As construction of the future Sonablock acoustic panel factory progressed, Stiga RM entered into a strategic partnership with BILA, one of Europe’s leading developers of robotics and industrial automation solutions. The collaboration became a defining milestone in the journey towards creating what is now recognised as the world’s most advanced wood wool acoustic panel factory.
The agreement covered the design, manufacturing and integration of customised robotic solutions that would automate some of the factory’s most critical production processes. Used by global manufacturers including Siemens, Carlsberg and Orkla, BILA’s automation technologies are recognised for delivering exceptional precision, reliability and production efficiency. Bringing this level of technology to Latvia represented not only an important step for Stiga RM, but also a significant milestone for the country’s manufacturing industry.
Rather than simply replacing manual work, the new robotic systems were designed to create a smarter manufacturing environment. Automation allows production to operate with greater consistency, improved precision and enhanced efficiency while enabling employees to focus on supervising advanced technologies and maintaining highly automated production systems. This approach supports both higher product quality and more sustainable manufacturing by improving energy efficiency and reducing unnecessary resource consumption.

Today, that vision has become reality. The Sonablock factory operates as the world’s most advanced wood wool acoustic panel production facility, capable of manufacturing up to 4.5 million square metres of acoustic panels annually. Equipped with fully automated production lines, a high level of robotisation and artificial intelligence solutions, the factory enables Stiga RM to deliver premium acoustic panels with exceptional quality and consistency to customers around the world.
